A Variety Of Excellent Hollywood Movie Outlines

Onionhead: A messy film with Griffith joining the Coast Guard in pre WW2 and becoming a ships chef. The film tries to be a comedy, a romance, and a drama at the same time and succeeds at none. Cast includes Andy Griffith, Felicia Farr, Walter Matthau, Erin O'Brien, Joe Mantell, Ray Danton, James Gregory, Joey Bishop, Roscoe Karns, Claude Akins, Peter Brown, and Tige Andrews. Double Wedding: Loy's orchestration of her sis's marriage ceremony is upset by the presence of free spirited bohemian Powell. The megastars are the entire show in this alternatively disheartening adaptation of Ferenc Molnar's play Incredible Love. Cast includes William Powell, Myrna Loy, Florence Rice, John Beal, Jessie Ralph, Edgar Kennedy, Sidney Toler, and Mary Gordon. (87 minutes, 1937)

Good Times: Back while the harmonizing twosome was still considered wacky, they made this entertaining little film, with Sonny day dreaming about their potential film roles and he and Cher harmonizing "I Got You Hottie." Cast includes Sonny and Cher, George Sanders, Norman Alden, and Larry Duran. (91 minutes, 1967)

Believe in me: Still another 1970s film that all about drug problems. Working gal Bisset finds herself completely dependant on speed while living in the East Village section of New York City. Cast includes Michael Sarrazin, Jacqueline Bisset, Jon Cypher, Allen Garfield, and Kurt Dodenhoff. (90 minutes, 1971)

In The lord We Tru$t: Ignorant friar Feldman treks to L.A. to raise money for his monastery. This film is a comedy that is tragically unfunny containing Pryor, who plays God. Cast includes Marty Feldman, Peter Boyle, Louise Lasser, Richard Pryor, Andy Kaufman, Wilfrid Hyde-White, and Severn Darden. (97 minutes, 1984)

The Facts of Life: Advanced comedy with Bob and Lucy leaving their partners for an interlude together. The 2 megastars make a team worth observing. Cast includes Bob Wish, Lucille Ball, Ruth Hussey, and Don DeFore. (103 minutes, 1960)

Foxes: Foxes is about 4 teenaged gals try dealing with the normal not in our town complications carried by growing up in San Fernando Valley. Adept cast and evidently genuine motives are sabotaged by rough storyline that just isn't gripping enough. Cast includes Jodie Foster, Cherie Currie, Marilyn Kagan, Kandice Stroh, Scott Baio, Sally Kellerman, Randy Quaid, and Lois Smith. (106 minutes, 1980)

Stairway to Heaven: Powell and Pressburger manage to straddle actuality and fantasy in a most disarming approach in this irregular tale of a guide in WW2 who claims he was unintentionally selected to die, and should now plead for his life in a Heavenly court. Cast includes David Niven, Kim Hunter, Raymond Massey, Roger Livesey, Robert Coote, Marius Goring, and Richard Attenborough. (104 minutes, 1946)

The Pleasure Garden: Hitchcock's first work, shot in Munich is a choppy account of a pair of chorus gals, one sugary and knowing, the other a waif. They eventually both become involved with the same man. Cast includes Virginia Valli, Carmelita Geraghty, Miles Mander, Jolm Stuart, and George Snell. (68 minutes, 1935)
